The fact that you're late with a negative test is cause to see a doctor. They can check your blood level to see if you're pregnant. Late cycles these days can mean everything or nothing. It could be the weather, stress, or body and diet changes depending on age. Blood clots ( a few and small) are normal with a period. I'd say either wait a week and a half and take another test or visit your GYN. But don't stress, no matter what the outcome stressing only adds negatively to the situation. If you are pregnant knowing early is best as well as with miscarriages.

Being late for your period doesn't always signify you are pregnant, and some pregnancy tests won't show that you are pregnant in the early weeks. I would see the doc about the clots and try another test in a few weeks or ask the doc to do one? Whatever happens, what is meant to be will be, don't get upset about it until you know what is happening. I bled at 6 weeks pregnant and was absolutely devastated thinking i had lost my baby until they did a scan and he was fine, I now have a healthy 16 month old. Good luck xxx

A miscarriage is usually accompanied by extreme cramping! I have had 3 of them and they are sooo painful! My mother told me once that she had heavy blood clots and they could be a sign of something??? I wish I paid more attention now. Seems like it was some type of tumor or growth in the reproduction area. Fibroids, maybe? I would go see a doctor asap. WebMD.com is a good place to check things out.

Try not to be scared. Consider your age, cyclic history, and general health. Illness will and some drugs associated with treating infections can influence your cycles. Stress and changes in diet will also do that. Women's cycles tend to line up with other women with whom they are in close proximity for long periods. If you moved in with a room-mate or work with women lots and regularly, then that too could influence your cycles timing. There have been suggestions that pheromones from men could also influence timing. In short, there are way too many things that are normal which would explain your situation.

Wait a little. See a doctor. Don't worry yet. Consider what others have said. It's good advice.

My sister in law has just had a suspected miscarriage but if he was pregnant it was to early for the doctors to tell, even a test may not have shown that she was pregnant. My suggestion woul be to go to the doctors as s oon as you can. Don't worry your not going to harm your body but incase you didnt have an early mis carriage you need to know why you have huge clots. I hope your ok and take care it really could just be nothing.

It sounds like it could just be a heavy period, however if it continues for 2 more days, or you have any discomfort (more than you usually have) then go see your doctor.

A miscarriage is highly unlikely. However if the problem continues I would suggest you get it checked out. If you don't have a regular period at all and miss one next month too - then go see a doctor.

Don't worry otherwise, periods don't always run in an orderly fashion. Good luck!

Not trying to be mean... but since youre just a week late I dont think a miscarriage would have clots at just 1 week. I have had periods like that before. Good luck to ya.

In relation to pregnancy tests : you can get false negative, Never a false positive.

I would give your period another 5-7 days, and if no sign take another test. I took 5 tests, all negative, now I have a 2 yr old :op

If your worried, try NHS24.

Hope you feel better & All the best xx

It could well be a miscarriage, but then it could just be you are having a heavy period. To be honest you need to go and look at the clots if they are ragged on the edges and have veins then go to the hospital, if they are smooth on the edge just keep checking. I hope u are having a heavy period hun all the best
