Is it because:
1. A driver or file is needed to make the converter work?
2. The keyboard has to be both PS/2 and USB compliant in order for it to work with the converter?
3. The converter is faulty?

The keyboard can work perfectly fine when connected via PS/2.
The converter looks like this but is yellow colour: http://images.tigerdirect.com/skuimages/small/C250-2001_main.jpg
