i have a ball python that is almost a year old and i was wondering what kinds of snakes would be compatible to keep with him if i got another snake. any help would be so great. thanks in advance!

Snakes don't really need company, but there are several types of snakes that you can keep with your royal. Make sure that the snake you decide to place in the pen w/ your royal has similar environmental needs. These snakes aren't cannibalistic by nature so that shouldn't be a concern, but competition for the best hiding spot, warm spot, cool spot could lead to stress for the snakes, so really, unless you're dead set on this, keep your snake solo.

No other snake or animal should be kept as a tank mate with your ball python. If you want another snake, he needs to be kept sepereatly.

You really shouldn't keep more than one snake in a cage unless you are planning on breeding them, and even then, they should not be left in the same cage all the time.

I have a python also and have had a number of different snakes with it. Just keep it well feed and you should have no problems.
