Any open minded American can realize the war in Iraq is not for freedom and democracy. We killed hundreds of thousands of people there and 3 thousands of ours died for no reason.
Our democracy and freedom are not endangered in any way by the Iraqis.
Is it possible that we stay there for... oil ?

To kolatkomics: I'm sorry to say, you are precisely the person I was talking about in the title: small minds.
If Arabs attacked us, we should go for Osama and not Iraqis. Try thinking again this time... harder... if you can.

Apachecat: Do you think establishing a democracy particularly in that side of the world is just a coincidence ? There are so many places where we could help, not by killing them, yet you beleive it is worth for our people to die there for some "terrorists" that attacked us ... and 7 out of 19 are still alive ? Doesn't it ring a "lie" bell ?
:)
That's funny :)

BlahBlah: my point exactly: why especially Iraq ? Almost every country in Africa is even poorer and underdeveloped that Iraq. But they don't have anything to offer.. it's true. The oil is Iraq is worth hundreds of billions..
But then again.. it might be a coincidence.

You got it...glad to see that critical thinking and logic aren't lost on you. The word "terrorist" is so vague and undefinable and has the ability to be easily abused..as we see now. Just like the propaganda in Hitler's day...people eat it up.

I think it is convenient that everyone forgets that Saddam was carrying out genocide. Is that why we went. No of course not. But lets not pretend that Iraq was this great Utopia and everything would have been fine if we would have stayed away. I am sick of hearing people say that wars are invalid because people die. Peope die when you sit by and do nothing too. Take a look at the Sudan, Congo, Uganda, Ethiopia, Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge. Its a good thing we didnt get involved in those conflicts because then we would have to face the fact that people are dying everywhere and we are letting it happen. (Although we all give lip service to how we will never let anything like the holocaust happen again. What a joke.

The initial proposal for the invasion was reported to be Operation Iraqi Liberation, however this proved to be an inappropriate acronym. There are those who believe we actually invaded Iraq to insure that the price of oil would escalate, and if so, we have been immensely successful, for the price of oil is now double what it was prior to the American Invasion. There are others who believe the invasion was to insure that America has the advantage of military bases in the Middle East, as our presence in Saudi Arabia was at best tenuous. Probably a combination of the oil theory and the military presence.

Some one told me that the smart people were all Democrats can you believe that .. you could take all the smart Democrats minds in congress, put them in a bunch and it would look like B B's rolling down a ten lane Hwy. all they under stand is give the hard working mans money away to some pathetic crack head that wants to party and live off the government until they get caught .. then they find Jesus and try to tell everyone else how to live.. my opinion..

Any "open mind" wouldn't be blind to other facts supporting the other side of the war. You have obviously already made YOUR mind up, so why ask anyone else's opinion?

This oil thing is getting so old. We need to establish a democracy in a very troubled, repressive area of the world.

no why would jihad against an enemy who wants us dead and has already attacked us twice be about freedom....small minds indeed. you need to get off mom and dads computer before you get spanked and leave the political discussion to the adults...you missed the point entirely..the freedom for you to express naivete in this manner is precisely why the war is being fought.
