as lumps of dry dirt fell though the filler cap? is it a big problem or will the fuel filter sort it? cheers

They will get picked up by the filter.

The dirt will sink to the bottom of the tank over time and may be drawn through the pump to the engine. The fuel filter is made for this, it may be an idea to purchase a washable inline fuel filter from K&N this will allow you to strip it out and wash it when needed.

Not a major problem, but you may find you need to replace your fuel filter to maintain performance.

u need to change ur fuel filter regularly,change it every 20,000 mile for best performance.
u may need also to flush ur fuel tank every 80,000 mile.
