My answer might sound scary, but if it will save the life of one child then it is worth hearing. Your son is hungry and wants to eat. He cannot because he might not be able to swallow do to acid.
My baby had the same thing and the doctor diagnosed him with acid reflux. It happens in babies when they are young and they will usually outgrow it. I was told that a lot of babies go undiagnoses or misdiagnosed with cholic. You will want to keep a close eye on him because one night I was folding clothes next to the baby and he took a big gasp and then stopped breathing for a couple second. Luckily, I was there to pick him up and the stimulation helped him start breathing again. It never happened again (like that) but it scared me to death though!
A few weeks later, the same thing also happened to my friend's baby and they were right there too. They rushed him to the hospital and the doctors there speculated that this could be one of the unknown reasons for SIDS. If parent's aren't there when it happens and stimulate the baby, or put them in an upright position to start breathing again then it might be the difference between life and death.
We were told to prop up our sons mattress so his head is higher. This will help with choking on acid. They also gave him a perscription that he took for awhile until he outgrew it. We also kept some "Little Tummy" gas drops next to his bed and if he would wake up at night we would give him a little taste and he would calm right down and go back to sleep. Get him tested right away so if he does need a perscription then you will have more peace of mind.
Being a mother is scary enough without the added worry. I sure hope this isn't what your little guy has, but if it is then you can at least learn more about it and be treating it. Good Luck.

Hi there.. my 4 month old seems to do the same thing. I gave up breast feeding because he was sooooo messy and all over the place at feeding time. Has he got a blocked nose?? Maybe he cant breath with the bottle in? Or maybe the teat size is too fast or even too slow.. the milk may be drowning him.. or annoying him because its not coming out fast enough.. If your still having problems, you must call your health visitor.. hope the little one gets better ;)

Is the bottle too hot always test on the wrist before giving to baby ,is the formula suiting him and make him colicky ,its unlikely he is teething ,maybe he doesnt like the teat you are using on the bottle ,baby cry for a reason and sometimes its diffucult to find the problem .If he continues have him checked he may be only going through a phase .Hope he settle for you soon .

could be the formula upsetting his tummy, could be many things...he might need to burp and like the others said it might be coming out too fast or too slow, some babies are just fussy on the kind of nipples you use...I guess just trial and error is the best way to find out, if it's really worrying you I would talk to a nurse or your doctor.
Best of luck with the little guy! and congrats!

make sure the teat on the bottle isn't flowing too fast you can get teats with different flows on them make sure he is on the lowest flow. it could be that he is not hungry and it is colic in which case try and replace his bottle with a dummy soother. if he is drawing his legs in and crying a lot use dentinox it is great stuff
Good luck

He has most probably got trapped wind which most babies get halfway or even a few minutes into drinking. Just stay calm and burp him then go back to feeding him. If you don't think it's wind, take him to the docs.

Have you checked to see if he is suffering with thrush?
I know it sounds gross, but many babies have this.
My friends son has it at the moment, and is doing exactly the same thing.
He has been given some oral cream, and seems to be getting better.
Ask your health visitor.
Hope this helped!

i think it could possibly be the teat on the bottle. the flow could be too fast for him. try a slow flow teat and im sure he will stop crying during feeds.

it sound like he has colic, infacol is the best my little girl had a similar problem, it will pass and when you give him infacol, rub his back and pat gently but firm and you will get a big burp and you might get abit of sick too well try speak to your health visitor just incase but it sounds alot like colic.
