I am getting my driver's permit on Friday. In order to do that I must have a state or county issued birth certificate with the raised seal. When I was born, all my parents were given was a birth certificate from the hospital and city. My driver's ed. instructor said we could order a county or state one online from the State. Where can I do this???

You must go to the Records of Vital Statistics for the state in which you were born. They charge different fees in different states so make sure you have all your information. In most cases, they will also require you to send in proof of who you are.

Call the local hospital. They file birth certs constantly, and they can give you an addres or phone ###.

In PA, you can get one thru your local state rep. Call him. They enjoy helping people like you.
