Being able to have a right good old laugh with each other, although not probably applicable if there is an impotent factor in the relationship!!!!

Hmmm....tough question to answer...
Do I answer what you typed (impotent meaning lacking in power or ability) or do I assume you meant 'important'?
My Daddy always taught me to never assume...it makes an A** out of U and me.
To me, idiosyncrasies lack the power to weaken or strengthen a relationship...we accept one another for our differences and do not give them any power.
Was this a trick question?

Trust...
If you dont trust someone then it is too difficult to be with them.
you are paraniod all the time and always questioning them and that is not healthy for a relationship.
