Paid to have children? You mean welfare? Just to play 'devil's advocate' here for a moment ... she could have been raped, or come from a religious family that does not believe in abortion, or - a lot of teens have babies because they are unloved and just want someone to love them. A baby will. Don't get me wrong, dear, I deplore teen pregnancies, but I don't have a solution. Modern TV and movies often show having a baby out of wedlock as a 'cool' thing. That should stop. I just don't understand your 'paid to have children' statement. If you are implying surrogacy ... teens aren't allowed to do that. If she got pregnant due to an 'indiscretion', then I would rather see her have the baby than abort, because abortion is mentally a very hard burden to carry. I was adopted. Born 3 months premature (unheard of in 1957) and turned out OK

When you say teen that could mean anywhere from 13-19 in which case in the UK i'm afraid they are over the age of concent at 16...Unfortunately mistakes do sometimes happen and each to their own...

there is alot of assumptions going on here... What if it wasn't her child? what if it was? She may look younger than she actually is! she may have been babysitting! She may even work to pay for her baby or have an older boyfriend that looks after her and they may be in love!! Is all this so hard to believe, its all the negative thoughts that make people stigmatise all 'the teenage mums'.....

go back to middle England and read your womans own... you have no idea how old she was, nor her circumstances, and it may be her little sibling and she looking after them... to give mum a break...or whatever.

jumping to conclusions says more about your preconcieved notions of teenagers, and how misguided it is. and how misinformed you are... by paid, i presume you mean benefits... social security benefits, put in place by aneurin bevan and the start of the welfare state...were a socialist country... it all goes into one pot, and everyone gets a share... some folks abuse it, and some folks dont.. see past you bigotry and your xenophobia... youll be a better person for it.

Well it is the best paid job to have, why write to companys asking if there is any jobs going, when you can just get pregnant and have a kid and get paid child benifits, housing benifits etc.. Sorry to be blunt but it is true.

there used to be a time when girls where married and had 2 or 3 babies by time they were 16.I don't think its right for girls to be having babies so young but sometimes these girls just have no one to guide them. And when they get into a situation like that they do the best they can.
