Shouldn't Marion Barber be starting over Julius Jones, he plays more games in a season than Julius does anyways, considering JJ is ALWAYS HURT.... Marion runs better in the Dallas system anyways... He is power, speed, and agility... JJ is nothing but halfway decent speed and a messed up body... What do you think? Marion Barber or Julius Jones?

Apparently the Cowboys management agrees with you (I do also) because rumor is they have been offering JJ around the league. They of course will be asking for a 1st rounder but the story is they would take less, first to clear cap space and second to acknowledge to Barber that he is the man. Best guess here is they find a taker on draft day and give him up for a 2nd rounder or a top of the 3rd this year with an additional (3rd or 4th rounder) in next years draft.

I agree that Marion looked better last year and many people will say he sould be the starter, but I don't agree. I believe that Julius really didn't click with Parcell's coaching style and was kind of held back. He should have a better season with more of a "player's coach." I'm not so sure Marion would be able to handle the starting role, and honestly believe the cowboys will be better using Julius as the number 1 and Marion as the plow when everyone is tired.

Marion barber is the better running back. Barber fights for those extra yards. And with the cowboys two tightend set, you need a power runner. JJ doesnt read defences well. He cant find the hole and much less bust through it. And that is what the cowboys smashmouth style of play needs from a running back. So Barber should be starter

I think Marion Barber, over the course of a whole season, would lose what makes him special (explosiveness, nose for the end zone) if he took the pounding of an every down back. Most successful teams have implemented a multi-back system. I like Marion better, but he needs Jones to take a share of the pounding.

What you must understand is that the reason Barber ran so effectively last year is because of the "change of pace factor". If teams strictly game planned for barber he would not run as well as last year. JJ runs a little more "soft" and North + South. Then when you bring in a speed +change of direction guy it throws the defense off. Think of it like baseball...Fast ball pitcher-who throws heat-would get slammed all the time if he did not throw in a change up here and there. Dallas is better off with JJ starting and Barber in on 3rd down and other packages.

Barber is the better runner but Jones is the better running back. Jones can catch the ball out of the backfield and pick up blocks much better. The starter should still be Jones until Barber can develop into an every down back.

how about both why would you get rid of either one it's like destroying a part of their run game Julius Jones is their first down speed guy while Marion Barber III is the third down power guy for 3 to 4 yards.

I really like the way they were used past couple of years. Letting Julius run then bring Barber in for 3rd downs and goal lines. Julius is a good runner..they both are..Barber as that intangible to gain that xtra yard when needed. He runs with aggression Julius is a soft runner.Who knows how Wad Phillips will use them this year.I heard that the boy's might be willing to trade Julius have not confirmed that through. This year ought to be good.

Barber is not physical enough to be a full time back..he takes too many hits. He is an excellent third down, change of pace guy. Give him 20-25 plays between the tackles and he'd be toast after a few weeks.

Julius Jones, like his brother Thomas, is underrated. The guy needs to simply be featured in an offense with a decent line and he will be a top back. I think Parcels ruined his confidence, and Wade will bring it back.

As Much as I hate the Cowgirls, I always told this lousy fans here in TX that Barber is the Better RB, but they don't pay attention to me cause im wearing Silver & Black all over. But it showed last year. I tell them JJ is good but Barber is by far the best runner, faster, and can actually break more tackles.
