Thank you! It was kind of different when Will Smith named his son "Jaden," but now it just reeks of 90's and yuppies, and..... ech, I just don't like it! The only name I am sort of ok with is Aiden, and that's really only because it is a family name. Otherwise, I have to say I totally agree!
Thanks, that was a nice little release after seeing some of the other posted questions!

my sons name is aiden and just so you know my husbands in the army and his name is tristan, and i know 2 aidens that are in the army and there guys plus it does not sound girlie would you like all boys to be names robet, james,josh,etc... i went to school with 5 roberts 3 joshs 6 james, they were in my grade too think how many there would be in the whole school don't come on here talking about names you hate we don't care and how are they boyish and should your names determine what job you have no i don't think so. why should we care what name some one has, you don't have to name your kids that name them robert, sandy, melissa, james etc.. if that's what you want but don't say what names are bad or good you could offend people that named there kids that think before you type

Yeah, I guess I agree. For instance, I thought that Chris Martin naming his baby Apple was really cute until I thought about how when she's 30 and applying for a job, she has to walk in and be like "Hi, I'm Apple Martin, nice to meet you." I think it would have been a cute name for a puppy, but not so much a human.

Too many parents try to use their kids as fashion statements these days. You have the 'aden/ayden' names, then the brand names (Porsche, Mercedes, etc). I know someone who runs a creche and there's even an Armani there.
I think they're going to need a lot of those Jaydens to work at an overstretched legal name changing bureau in about 20 years.

Not only can I see Jayden being a commanding officer in the service, but I can see Jayden (female) being whatever she wants to be in life as long as she is happy! I have an 18 month old daughter Jayden, and I don't care what she is in life as long as she is happy. What is your name again??

Yes I agree with you.
There will come a time when these names are really tired as there will be about 7 Jaydens in every class in school and the name will be really common.
MAIDEN would be really innapropriate for a boy.

This is so true of MOST of the "unusual" names people saddle their little ones with.
I would love to see a trend toward normal type names!

i like Aidan, but the other names bother me....and what's wrong with being a fashion designer?!! unless you're implying the point that many male fashion designers are gay... but still...that's no reason to make fun of the name or the profession

I like most of them and I think that it is society and not the name that is a problem. Jayden isn;t much different than Jason.
