It depends what you need to prove your age for. Citizen cards are good, although I believe there is a charge of some kind for this. Your passport should be accepted as proof of age pretty much everywhere, if you don't have a passport and don't think you'llbe needing one in the near future I'd go for a citizen card because passports are very expensive now and I'm sure the citizen card must be less expensive.

In the UK we are issued national insurance cards at the age of 15 years and 9 months, so no, it's not enough.

Seeing as you are from the UK you wont have a driving license! Buuuut, there is this thing...I think it's called a citizen card? You get the form for one at your local post office, it's for young people (I had one until I got my NUS card) so is valid at places like the cinema etc. Or, if you're in 6th form or college you should be able to get an NUS card, talk to one of your teachers about it. Good thing about NUS is you get student discounts too, like at the cinema, HMV, New Look and other places. I usually just ask if they do student discount coz loads of places dont advertise it. Good luck.

A birth certificate, along with any type of photo ID. And being 16, you should have a Driving Permint. If not your local DMV will issue you a ID only, you would need your birth Cerificate, Social security card, and proof of residency.

You get a National Insurance card/number when you are 16 - that should be enough.

All states provide an ID card for their residents. You have to prove residency, and who you are. AND you have to pay for the card.
Have your parents take you down, or bring your birth certificate, and get it on your own.
Most state ID's are obtained at the same place you get your license.

You can probably get a state ID card from your local motor vehicle department.

You could use your birth certificate, passport (if you have one) or your NI card. You can get a proof of age card when you are 18.
Is it for a CRB check, coz I do those - I can tell you what i d you can use...

Go to where they issue drivers' licenses. Take your birth cert, and they will issue you a photo ID card.
It's fast, easy, and usually free.
