my last question left me completely confused
some said they were all fundamentals while others said
electrons and protons or just electrons
wo can tell me for sure which are fundamental?....and why exactly

Neither of the provided elementary particles are fundamental. Electrons can be further broken down into positron and negatron, which are themselves antiparticles of each other. Further neutrons and protons, are made up of similar elementary particle( I dont have their names with me now, do a search and find it). Also neutrons and protons are dynamic, formed in transition as a result of exchange forces in the nucleus.

The mass structures of atoms are outlined in the period table of element. Each element structure is based upon its core which is the previous element of the table.Because they follow a sequence its called periodic.
Even though Chemistry knows how each atom behaves and how the components which make up the atoms ,the basic structures are still not quite understood.

Basically it is known that Atoms are structured in terms of components which are common and basic to each structures forming the architecture of materials.
They are called elementary particles; They are Protons , Electrons and Neutrons. These structures only exist because in between the elementary particles there a space structure which consist of massless particles.Together they form a volume of a containment which form a gravity pressure holding it into a shape.
The structure of the Neutrons , Protons and Electrons are basically composed of The same elementary particle of the Universe which is a micromass whose structure still has to be explained and understood by science in more explicit details.
So far only some theories have postulated such a basic elementary particule of the Universe.
This particle was theorized initially by Newton in his Corpuscular theory .Also Prevously by the Greeks From Aristotle to Democritus.Presently Cosmology has postulated , based on Einstein's Cosmological constant , a particle that they call" Dark Matter." So That granular mass structure of Dark Energy is perhaps the real long sought "Elementary Particle mass of the Universe".
It would be that particle which is responsible to structures all masses that we know in the world of Chemistry.

Sorry for contributing to that confusion. I wrote that protons are probably fundamental particles, since I was a littl lazy to do the search for confirming that. I read recently somewhere that protons is not.

Now I did the search for you (I could have answered do the search yourself but if you could do that you wouldn't post here). So, here is the answer: No, proton is a hadron, a composite particle just like neutron made up of quarks. See the good article at:

protons and neutrons are made of quarks and leptons (which are, as far as we know, fundamental).

there are 6 types or quarks, which are called flavors... up, down, charm, strange, top, and bottom.

there are 6 different types of leptons, also... electron neutrino(0), electron(-1), muon neutrino(0), tau neutrino(-1), tau(0), the numbers reffer to their electric charge.

and there are also anti-matter particles for each of these six, this is where it gets weird...

each of these particles has an opposite, such as an electron's opposite is a positron, i wont go into detail, just know that these are the fundamentla building blocks of matter and also they dont actually have the same laws of nature as larger blocks of matter (such as color charge)

they are fundamental because they cannot be broken into ans smaller parts

No, electrons, protons, and neutrons are all formed of other particles called quarks, and now nobody knows if quarks are the most elementary particles, maybe or maybe not. They are as far as humans know.

Electrons are not made of positrons and negatrons. Positrons are the anti matter equivalent of electrons and negatrons are the the anti matter equivalent of protons.

Fundemental particles can not be broken to simpler particles.

Proton consists of three Quarks (uud). Neutrons consist also of 3 quarks (udd). Electron is the only fundemental particle.
