Just support her desicion even though you think its crutial, let her know that just because its not the right choice, its not the only choice. Maybe the only way she can feel comftorable in her skin IS by turning emo, you should just say that your behind her 100% of the way, even though she is gonna look different on the outside, she is still the same sis that has alswayz looked up to you.

EMO is a FAD. FAD is and acronym for "For A Day".
Give her 24 hours and another FAD will take its place. It may be worse or it may be better but you can bet the farm it will be different.
Some folks never outgrow a FAD, you will find 60 and 70 year old Hippies in Congress. They are still living in the "free love" era of the 1960s but most have outgrown it. Your sister will outgrow it too.

Other than the embarrassment to you, it's probably not hurting anyone. Since it's a subcultural fad that's trying to be all rebellious and different ("I'm emo! I'm dark and disturbed, and I need to write bad poetry and wear extra eyeliner that looks like it was applied by a kindergartener!! You just don't understand!!!"), I'd say that if you express any disapproval it will just fuel it because then she can be like, "My family just doesn't understand! They won't let me be myself! Or rather, 'myself' acting just like 10,000 angsty kids that seem more interesting to me than a normal kid!!!!"
Be understanding, treat her as you always have. If there's fun cute things that you guys do together or like, then still incorporate them and she'll know how inauthentic her act is. It'll pass, just like every phase does. Good luck!

is that a problem for u??? i don`t think u should worry as long as she is not hurting herself or anyone else...all individuals should have the freedom to be who they are, without others judging them or stereotyping them!!! just talk to her & share your feelings & concerns, & get her point of view...as long as she is happy & healthy & not destructive to herself or those around her, i think it`s ok!!! there`s nothing wrong with being "emo" or "goth" or whatever, unfortunately there are stereotypes that are associated with those labels that are entirely inaccurate & just breed misunderstanding from other people!!! getting things out in the open between u & your sister will hopefully clear the air between u two & u will understand each other better!!!

Be supportive! She has her own likes and dislikes. If she enjoys being emo, be happy for her that she can find something she can identify with.
Perhaps itz just a phase and she would outgrow it someday.

depending how young your sister is it could be a phase but, alot of high school kids are that way. Bottom line support your sister in every way, shape or form you can unless, it's illegal or will hurt other people!

Buy her some new black rimmed glasses and a lot of mousse and makeup and join her when you cry while listening to My Chemical Romance.
