I recall last time I used it it was fine for 2 hours or so and then I though overheated... timing was right so I stored it in shed and forgot about it - until last couple fo days. Does nto start at all now.. have replaced sparkplug... opened it up and seen nothing out of place.

Also - what does a strimmer 'service' entail and how much is reasonable to charge?

There is not much in a service of a trimmer. A spark plug, air filter, and a look at the fuel lines and the spark arrester is all we do here. The fuel lines tend to rot after 2 years. If the fuel lines are green then you have the newer lines. Take it back to your dealer and have then check it over. Should not cost you over an hour of labor.

When mine did that I had to replace the gas line from the tank to the carburator.

it could be the on off switch....take it to your local shop..bet it dont cost 40 pounds to fix
