(x+3)(x+3)=(x-1)(x-1)
x^2+6x+9=x^2-2x+1
8x = -8
x=-1

Answer A

b = points for blue
r = points for red

2r+4b=24
3r+2b=16 Double this equation and subtract the first equation from it.
6r+4b=32
4r=8
r=2=points for red token
4+4b=24
4b=20
b=5=points for blue token

Check:
2r+4b=24
4+20=24

3r+2b=16
6+10=16

(x+3)^2 = (x-1)^2

foil
x^2 + 6x + 9 = x^2 - 2x + 1

6x + 9 = -2x + 1
8x = -8
x = -1
A

let R be the number of red tokens
and B be the number of blue tokens
2R + 4B = 24
3R + 2B = 16

2R + 4B = 24
-6R - 4B = -32
-----------------
-4R = -8
R = 2

now that you know red, use that to find blue.
