You're not gonna get a good read in a "short and easy" book, but try Insomnia by Stephen King and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

Celtic fiction? The Pendragon Cycle. Three books called "Taliesin," "Merlin" and "Arthur." Romance? Anything by Nora Roberts. Fantasy fiction? Anything by Orson Scott Card, begin with "Ender's Game."

The "1-800-WHERE-R-YOU" series. The book is by Meg Cabot, a very good author who has one many awards. This series is one of my best! I loved it that i read all four books in one month, and these are farely long series. It's full of suspence and extreme action of just a single high school girl named Jessica, and her so-called boyfriend, Rob...

The titles of the series in order are:
"When Lightning Strikes"
"Code Name Cassandra"
"Safe House"
"Sanctuary"

Short and easy? It really depends if you want novels, novellas, or short stories. I would suggest:
-Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, especially Welcome to the Monkey House, Cat's Cradle, and Deadeye Dick
-Animal Farm by George Orwell
-Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger
-Several books by John Steinbeck and
-anything by Edgar Allan Poe

Daniel Keys's Flowers for Algernon. Very short, fast 'n' easy read, and amazingly enough - thought-provoking! And the best part is, you can brag about it being good literature when you're done.

Here's a link to Amazon.com's summary and review of it http://www.amazon.com/Flowers-Algernon-Bantam-Classic-Daniel/dp/0553274503
