the council set the rent rebate and it depends on the area that you live in and also the benifit that you recieve

You can ask the Housing Benefits for a pre evaluation, or just phone and ask what is the most they normally pay for the type of property you want to move into...they can give you a rough estimate over the phone, but its pretty much usually the going ate for the propeties in youre area...

apply to the local council for housing/council tax benefit . They should pay what they consider to be a fair rent for the property,so if the rent is over the top you will have to find the shortfall

dss will pay nothing! the housing bebfit comes from the council and where i live in south wales it`s £55 and you pay the rest.

How lame a question. Get off your butt and stop relying on DSS....loser !! Move in with family until you can pay your own way. Stop paying for smokes with food stamps, etc... save some money. Lay off the booze, too. Eliminate all luxury items, frivolous stuff like, cable TV, Cell phones, video games, crack, pot, etc...you'd realize an additional $500 per month if you did. You can thank me now and pick me as the best answer.....LOL
