Does Anyone Know when Spring Cleaning Begins?????

It begins for me when I can comfortably open the windows to the fresh air. Which, of course, means taking the storm windows down and taking the rest of the window apart to clean it.

To help motivate you, invite a few friends to a dinner party a few days away from when you start cleaning. Then you have to "hustle your bustle."

My party was last Monday, and by then I had half of the deep cleaning done. Now I am taking a break, obviously. Guess I need to schedule another party so I can get the rest of Spring cleaning done, huh?

Whenever you want.

Spring cleaning is really a bit of a misnominor: A more accurate one I've heard is deep cleaning. But it usually is done in the spring because spring is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts.

Some people start "Spring Cleaning" as soon as winter is overwith, in their area. Others wait till around Easter time. It's up to you. You know when you have the time to do things.

As for me, I start when winter is basically overwith. I put away most all of the winter clothes, especially the heavier ones and bring out the Spring/Summer clothes. Same with bed linens.

It's also one of two times a year, I do a full ceiling-to-floor, wall-to-wall cleaning! This is the time to get the carpets professionally cleaned, furniture steam-cleaned, draperies to the dry cleaners, air out mattresses, etc.

Go ahead and get started now by cleaning out closets and putting away winter clothes. Clean one room at a time including baseboards, ceiling fans and window seals and blinds. Stay on top of it and you should be done in a couple of days to enjoy your spring break.

Right now for us. I'm already making piles of stuff to sell in a yard sale in a week or two. Then everything will be more empty for cleaning. Our neighbors are having one too, so we'll get more sales between the two households.
