you could if you wanted but its a bit tacky. you're working for them not modeling or advirtising them. if you had to wear their clothes the woman would probably tell you straight away.

I would definitely say that it is one of those unsaid rules about working at a clothing store (to wear their clothes). But, that doesn't mean that you have to be decked out from top to bottom with H&M stuff. If you want to wear something that's different, or your own, go for it, but you might want to try to add a small H&M accessory like earings or something to show that you are making an effort to support your employer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your interview.

I worked for Wet Seal. They made you wear the clothes from the store. I also worked at Gadzooks, they preferred you to wear their clothes, but couldn't legally make you.

I don't think its a stupid question. I know alot of workers wear the clothes anyway because they get a discount. I liked wearing the clothes I got from the stores because it helped with selling. Customers would ask where I got my shirt from, and I'd just grab them one out of the store.

I'm not sure about wearing their clothes or not.

HOWEVER, the people interviewing you will expect you to ask questions--it makes you look better than the applicants that don't ask questions. This would be a good question to ask the interviewer--it means you are thinking about this job.

i really don`t think they expect u to always wear their particular clothes at work, but maybe something that represents the same general styles that are sold in the shop...for example, i have worked at hot topic & probably u are familiar with the type of clothes they sell there (rock/emo/goth/punk styles), so the people who worked there wore that type of clothing...i think it would have been a bit strange if the employees wore preppy clothes as they are representing the whole vibe of the store...probably h&m is the same...

Usually clothing stores prefer you wear clothes from their stores, but don't insist on it. What they usually do insist is that you don't wear clothes that advertises a competitor. ie: don't wear an "Old Navy" t-shirt. Good luck with the interview.

i worked at a clothing store ( and hated it) but i did not wear clothes from there store and still got the job. i would just think that as long as you look presentable they will hire you. good luck!!!

Listen darling, If you have looked into this store and think the clothes there are bad how can you work there. If the clothes are stylish and expensive than do they pay for them. Or would you look good in a berlap bag?
OMG are you guys saying she is homely. Most of the girls I see selling in clothing stores are hot. They would easily look good in a berlap bag with heels.

I know the Gap, Old Navy, Levis make you wear their stuff and a lot of stores make you wear what they sell no matter what brand it is...I knew someone who worked for H&M and they did not make her wear their stuff but they said it would be a good idea...
