Pliers and a rubberband. Just wrap the rubberband around the lugnut tightly, and then use the pliers. If you can't find a rubberband, then try one of those rubber circle jar opener, or a piece of that foamy/rubbery stuff people put in their drawers or cabinets.

I'm assuming you mean the nut that holds the axle.
Good tools to have, unless the nut has been made round, are available at an auto parts store. Sure, you have to spend $10 but the tools last forever. They contact the middle of the flat side rather than the corners.

There's always the small pipe wrench.

Look on the inside of the bike mount...there may be an adjuster nut in there that you may be able to loosen and get the axle loose.

Try a lug or a nut cracking device but be careful not to penetrate to much and ruin the lug!!

Good Luck!!

Since the nut is already rounded, use a pair of channel locks to get it off. Then buy a new nut and use a wrench to tighten it. The next time you need to get it off, it will be much easier.

good pair of vise grips with curved jaws for the best grip. That nut was probably overtighted with the wrong wrench most likely a cresent, they don't call them knuckle busters for nothing
