If one of your arteries accidentally gets cut by something, does it hurt alot? And how do you know if one of your artery is cut?

It would usually hurt you a lot if one of your arteries was cut. In my experience with trauma and doing blood gas arterial puncture, it's a very sensitive body part.

There are some exceptions to the pain issue: anything that stuffs up the nerves that would normally send the pain signal (leprosy, peripheral neuropathy, etc)

If an artery is cut, typically you would bleed bright red blood and in a pulsatile fashion. This is not a 100% guarantee of arterial injury as sometimes large veins can give a pulsatile looking squirt of blood too!

ok first of all yes it hurts a lot. Any cut would hurt, it just depends on how deep it is. Pain is all about perception.

as far as if you know if you have cut an artery the best way is to see how fast the blood flows. If you cut an artery blood spurts out. The bigger the artery you cut the more the spurt.

All cuts hurt a lot. You'd know if you hit an artery because the blood would spurt out with the beating of your heart. You can die very quickly from loss of blood.
