I had a Sheltie and after 17 years had to put her down, too. It is very hard... and I am thinking of getting another dog now that I have a house.

Hey Friend :),

Wassup----I am sorry that your dog passed away (that must've hurt a lot :( I hope that you find a dog that is just as lovable as your last doggie :)

Okay to answer your question: I would want a Great Dane (no Scooby Doo, Where are You Jokes) and I already have a Beagle (No his name is NOT Snoopy) LOL

I think Great Danes are fun and really a great dog to have as a friend: just one thing this dog needs space because of its bigness..

This question made me smile a lot and I gave you a star--your questions are so much fun!

My favorite breed is the Australian Shepherd. They are very intelligent, and loyal, and have a distinctive look. There are two sizes. one about the size of a German Shepherd, and the other is a bit larger and stockier. http://www.australianshepherds.org/about.html
But if you want a smaller house dog, you may want to consider a Corgi. They are about the size of a Cocker Spaniel, very intelligent, with little maintenance. http://www.corgis.com/
Right now I have an Aussie and a Britney Spaniel, as well as two cats. I got my Britney at a Dog Rescue (not an animal shelter) She had been dropped off because she wasn't active enough.
So, now she and my Aussie run around happily in the yard, chasing the water from the sprinkler, and rolling big balls to each other...lol

I am a dog lover too! And i would probably have to say a golden retriver because that breed of dog was my first dog and I loved her a lot also because they are calm and sensitive.

I usually like puppies. I don't have a particular favorite. I just love dogs. As long as they are playful and loving then I'm okay with what breed they are. It's how you raise them that ultimately matters the most.

Rough Collie. I used to have one. His name was popcorn. A sort of lassie dog, but not the same colour as lassie. He was a mixture of everything. Black, dark brown, creme, white, beige, light brown. He had to be put down though. He was getting very old and was in alot of pain. :(
