I replaced the switch with a used one but it seems to be the same . Is there a place where the wiring seems to go bad.

Bad ground at the light, or loose bulb.

yes- Junk yard parts are not recommended for this problem.

There was a recall on the slip ring/turnsig/horn/airbag for these

Take your vin # to the local Chrysler/Dodge dealer and check for compliance on your vehicle.

You may have just undone the recall????

Could still be a bulb based on your very incomplete description, so have a pro take a peek and see what they say.
