It depends on what site. As long as you know the site is safe (check it out first would be wise) it should be alright.

Yes, just try to make sure that they ship via UPS and not the United States Postal Service. My daughter ordered from Baby Phat, and they shipped through the mail. It took us a week to finally trace the package down. The post office kept giving us the run around as to where the package was. Two different post offices and no one could find the package, plus they acted very rude, like they didn't want to help us. I finally had a lady that helped, and we received the package a few days later. Just be careful.

yes-if you go to reputable vendors. i always start out going on amazon. if they don't have it, then i go to sites that rate what i'm looking for, or that rate stores in themselves. you can also go to sites that allow people to post their experiences good or bad and you can go from there.
when i first started shopping online i was just lucky and didn't get taken. but along the way, i've had crap sent to me that was nothing close to what i ordered, i've also had places take my money and never sent my orders, called/emailed never got answered.
i like ebay, but i would be careful when buying things there to. i purchased a truck from some son of his mother that didn't report the car being in a flood. long story short, even when i took him to small claims i didn't get my money back.
there are honest people on ebay, you just have to do your research. don't go on the rating that these people have. you can contact the buyers to find out what their experiences are.
but overall, i love shopping online. i don't really like big crowds at the mall so it takes away that trip.
research, research, research

There is only so much security we can expect on line. Being a webmaster myself I advise this:
Buy from reputable and well known on line sellers.
In your Browser look at the lower right hand side for a Padlock Icon which indicates the website has security measures to protect you and them.

yes it is, when you deal with famous and big companies...
i always buy stuff from Ebay...
Good example, I got a deal with an external hard drive on ebay, so i immediately ordered one...
You'll be able to save a lot of money that way, and most of the things you buy are guarenteed genuine... unlike where i live of course...

Yes, but then the question is - is it safe to have it delivered to where you live without it being opened and stolen? =0
