I was wondering, other than shape, what the difference between an incense stick and an incense cone is. And when you light them, are you supposed to blow them out and just let the smoke go, are you supposed to let them burn with a flame like a candle?

Not much difference than the shape. Cones are easier to me. They don't need as big a space to be burnt in. You light them, let them burn about ten seconds and blow them out. The smoke then releases the fragrance into the air.

It feels like they burn a similar amount of time to me, but I am not totally sure. A cone burner I have has vents that look neat when the smoke comes through. I really like myrrh and frankincense. Sandalwood is good too, as is patchouli. There are many from which to choose; the sites below show different types and scents of incense. The kinds I have had recently are Nag Champa sticks and Song of India brand India Temple cones; I liked them both.

I like the Sticks....the cones don't smell up as large an area....Yes light them... blow them out and let the smoke smell up the air. They come in a variety of smells.

I prefer the sticks. They last longer and smell stronger. They are also easier to find. They are a little messier, but I don't care.

Go with the cones. The sticks burn my sinuses, I guess from the wood burning. the cones are more pure.
