In general, it is safe to start tanning during pregnancy. The UV rays do not penetrate past the layers of your skin so your child won’t have any effects from those. Aside from the regular cautions from tanning in tanning beds, you should be aware that lying down in one may result in a rise in the temperature in the body, which could be harmful to the fetus in the first trimester. There are stand up commercial tanning beds available for those concerned with safe tanning during pregnancy. Most tanning beds also offer cooling systems which helps keep the body cool while tanning.

Hmmm...this is a tough one. I do know that tanning while pregnant is unhealthy for the baby because the baby relies on you to regulate its body temperature, and if yours gets too high, the baby's gets too high. But also, melanoma (skin cancer) is the only cancer known to cross the placenta. I wouldn't risk it. Maybe some time in the outdoors in the sun would do you some good! Use sunscreen or a moisturizer that contains spf protection on your face (and anywhere else showing) and get out and take a stroll in the sun, making sure to drink plenty of cool water, of course.

Why dont you try self tanners instead of tanning beds. It safer for the skin without the harmful UVA/UVB rays that are associated with tanning beds. Its also not good to raise your internal tempurature too much while pregnant because then you risk the baby getting overheated and defects coming into place.

TRY A SPRAY ON TAN NOT ONE THAT YOU USE AT HOME, GO TO A TOP SALON AND ASKED TO GET SPRAYED. IT COST ABOUT $20.00 AND YOU GET A GREAT NATURAL LOOKINGTAN FOR ABOUT 4-6 WEEKS, I WOULD SAY GO FOR THE SPARY IT COULD BE A LOT SAFER THAN THOSE HARMFUL RAYS. PLUS INSTEAD OF BEING AT THE TANNING BED THREE DAYS A WEEK YOU COULD BE DOING MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING. CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK HOPE THIS HELPS.

Here's an article for you to read on the subject: http://www.babycenter.com/expert/pregnancy/pregnancybeauty/1127909.html . The biggest problem with tanning beds is that they can raise your body temperature to a level that is unsafe for the baby.

Put white vinegar on your face and neck every day. This will equalize the ph of your skin and the break out should be better soon.

It is fine for the baby. Not so good for you, but fine for the baby.

If you are suffering from horribly oily skin, or something, use rubbing alcohol on your face and back EVERY DAY. It will dry up and clean your pores, making zit-causing bacteria have a harder time thriving in your skin.

Its not even worth the risk... and there are risks. That is why if a tanning facility knows you are pregnant, they usually won't let you tan there.
