My fiance and I have been together for almost a year and our anniversary is coming up. I've been told that he has a really wonderful surprise for me and I would also like to do something special for him. He's NOT into sports, clothing, his appearance, cars, or electronics. His favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers and he likes to do hands on sort of things. He also likes nature, camping, and skateboarding. Also, we live 3 1/2 hours away from each other and I am going to go and visit him for a week during our anniversary time. I only have 2 weeks to come up with something really good and I don't have much money ( under $100)! Any cute/romantic ideas for something I could do for him? Please HELP!!

You're celebrating your 1-year anniversary of being engaged? So I assume your wedding is coming up within the next couple of months, RIGHT????? Or is this one of those engagements where there is no date, no timeline, and you're just engaged so that people take your relationship a little more seriously? ANYWAY............

My advice for the 1-year anniversary of your engagement to a guy that lives three and half hours away for under $100 is to make him a nice dinner and rent a couple of Red Hot Chilli Peppers "live and in concert" DVDS to watch with him. Because by the time you drive three and half hours and spend $50 on gas, you'll only have $50 left anyway. Good luck.

Make a song collection of meaningful songs to you as a couple. Put a nice cover on it, like a picture of you together, or maybe use photoshop to make it have something to do with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Going out to dance is always fun.
Hope that helped and good luck!
Kind Regards,
Loup

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

I think you can go for camping...!! There you can serve something special to him and have a romantic candle light dinner or something like that... you can buy some good and nice decorative stuff from dollar store... to make the dinner more romantic...!!
You can also tell him that you may not be able to meet him on that day and just drop in there without informing him...!!!
Have a wonderful day...!!

1 year anniversary is paper or cotton depending on your country's traditions. (Or clocks).

Oh ...

Fiance - sorry. I was thinking wedding anniversary.

Buy him a guitar?

Name a star after him.

Red Hot Chili Peppers book - CD's DVD boxed set

(the ebay suggestion above isn't bad)

Make him something - one of my presents from a now ex-gf was a chess set (I LOVE chess). She bought a large chess board / table at an op-shop and went to a plaster/ceramics place and had a set of chess pieces made of plaster, painted them, put hardening stuff on them, coloured them so they looked a little old (antiquing). This is by far and away the most impressive present I've ever had, just purely because of the amount of thought put into it.

Well, here's two ideas: 1. Ebay, I'm sure you could find something signed from RHCP for under a $100.

2. Lingerie. Buy something very seducting that would get his blood to boil with excitement. Most men like that :-D
