There aren't any "real" Christians. Any of you think you are? Go read Christ's "Sermon on the Mount" then get back to me, thought so, you're just a "Christian of Convenience" meaning: you're only a Christian so long as it's convenient.

If anybody says anthing like this, that you don't LIKE you just dismiss it without fair consideration. You'll just call me "arrogant", tell me to shut up and go away. You'll say to me: "what business do you have telling ME about MY faith?" Well, I'm just saying that JESUS said something and if you think you're following the word of Jesus, you're full of s#!t. I've never heard of one person on this Earth who is a true Christian, have you?

To answer the question: G.W. Bush laughs behind their backs (the Christians that supported him). Once he's gotten their vote, or their money, he couldn't care less about them.

If I believed in God I would say: Bush is the Devil and has pulled of the greatest swindle in history.

Sorry man, but turning the cheek is a personal issue. Say you talk crap about me or something, turning the cheek would be like me ignoring it. Obviously, if I was in a life or death situation, say a guy is attacking me, self defense would be acceptable. For a national level, turning the other cheek would be like disregarding political and abusive statements that were made. If a country is a haven for terrorists and have set up nuclear facilities in the past as well as invaded other countries, it would be stupid to ignore that, wouldnt it? Nations and people are on two different levels. Jesus was more on the personal level, although we ought not to abandon morals in the national decisions we make. You are right, we cant have it both ways. Its 'turn the other cheek', not 'let yourself always get run over'.

You aren't Christian, are you?

You don't know the Bible, do you?

Why not read that in context to the scripture. First of all, turn the other cheek is an act of defiant pacifism. It's a dare, so to speak. If you are slapped, turn the other cheek and let him hit that, too. You are showing your strength.

Your faith in God is stronger than any man.

Also, you'll find it interesting that the US military will treat enemy combatants on the battlefield if they are found wounded. We don't attack people, as Christians. We do fight in wars when we are called upon to do so, but it's not because we're Christians. We're fighting as part of a secular country.

You don't understand because you have no faith.

You obviously haven't a clue as to what turning the other cheek means. Go research it. It is like us flipping the bird or muslims showing the sole of their shoe. It is the ultimate disrespect you could show. When you turn the other cheek you are telling your attacker "You're a punk, here hit this side now, you are weak"

P.S. Yes you can have it both ways

Render onto Cesar what is Cesar's and unto God what is God's

Perplexing is people who have clearly not read the Bible asking questions about what other people believe.

I know its really difficult, but try to grasp the reality that Jesus was not here to run the government. Only to teach individual FOLLOWERS how to live.

Never did He say anything about the oppressive Roman government, other than "pay your taxes."

I've come to the conclusion that those on the right side who spend their day on this forum demonizing the left and those on the left side who spend their day demonizing the right are both just as bad.

Labels are wrong. Generalization is wrong.

Wasting my time on a political site that wants questions, not political statements that make you feel better about yourself, is also wrong.

Do Democrats sit by and watch people get ed and slaughtered and do nothing to help. Have you ever heard of a sin of ommission. What's perplexing is your willing ignorance of what ism is and who supports it. Do you honestly think that the war on ism is just limited to Al Queda?

Answer: Yes and No!
Details: Such convoluted nonsense! "Bush or God. Country or Faith, You can't have it both ways"
Working so hard to fathom your limited mentality...How does one of your "special needs" separate "God" and "Faith"...
Darned blue staters just could not get enough Americans to pull the lever for an admitted coward and war criminal in an act to deny God and dismiss faith I guess.
Liberals, mis interpreting their blind luck in the last election cycle, will make such an a$$ of themselves in the next year, they will have to resign themselves to what they are...A minority of American political thought !

No, their mentality and actions are described by shock and awful events.

REV 13V
13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

You can't have country AND faith? Is that the mindset of the liberals? That explains a lot!
