You will have fun, work on outdoor skills and also personal progress goals for your spiritual self, go on some hikes, cook some camp food, maybe have a "secret sister" that you provide little gifts/treats for (and one who will do the same for you). Some wards go to a campground or cabins, others are in tents. You'll get a list of what to bring from your YW advisor or camp director. Sometimes there is a fee, especially if you are in an area where they have to rent a state park or cabins, but often they will do fundraisers to help defray the cost. There will be no boys allowed anywhere near the camp, except for adult leaders who will be there each night for safety .

You will have such a fabulous time! I absolutely LOVED girls camp and I'm no camper!!!

a) The purpose of camp is to teach you some survival skills, get you outside of the house and into the beautiful world that our Father in Heaven has created and help you draw closer to the Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is amazing how profound camp is on a young woman.

b)Bring your sleeping gear (sleeping bag, ground sheet, foam mattress, pillow), your journal, basic toiletries, such as soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, hair ties, hat, sunblock, bug repellent, and your scriptures and a some changes of clothes. Leave behind your makeup, iPOD, personal electronics...they might get broken/wet/destroyed and you won't need them. Ask the camp director for other stuff you will need.

c)Most of the time, the ward/branch will cover the cost or the majority of the cost for camp. Again, your camp director can give you more information about this.

d)There will be no boys. You might have the husband of the camp director there or some other leader's husband--to have a priesthood holder there. But other than that, it's a girls only camp.

I had the most amazing experiences at camp. We did a lot of singing, playing, we always did some kind of craft. It was such a special experience...and I always came away feeling so close to the Lord and feeling like I was someone special to Him. You will have such a good time!

When i was in young women's we went to girls camp. It was great we did lots of things. Both recreational and spiritual. Our leaders would give us a list of items that we were to bring to the camp. There should not be a fee to go not unless you leaders tell you so ahead. No there are no boys there so do not really about them playing pranks.

I never went, but my daughter has, and she liked it. And, no, no boys! She didn't get to go last year and she won't get to go this year. Oh, well....
