A porcupine puffer is definitely a saltwater fish. They do NOT get to six feet however - they have the potential to go around one and a half feet, although 10-14 inches is more common! The maximum listed for this species is 50.0 cm (19.69 inches http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/speciesSummary.php?ID=4659&genusname=Diodon&speciesname=holocanthus ). They are aggressive and should be kept by themselves, or with a few other small fish IF hiding places the puffer can't reach are provided - in an tank at least 100 gallons. I also saw one kept succesfully in a custom-made 4' x 4' x 6' tank with a five foot moray eel.
Here's some info on porcupine puffers and their care:

Porcupine puffers are strickly salt water fish. You need a mature salt tank to house these puffers.

PS. 70 gallon is not necessary for these fish. Although the Porc puffer can exceed lengths of 6 feet, rarey in captivity do they ever reach that length. The only place I know of that has one in excess of 6 feet is the aquarium on the boardwalk in Atlantic city. They have 5.

Do not attempt this type of creature without getting all the information. They need at least a 70 gallon SALT water aquarium because of their adult size.
