It's one of those that has the brass knob and then the little swing thingy like they have in some hotel rooms.

I've bought these, they're a pain in the a** even with the instr. The way I did it was to put it together on a table first. The knob part attaches to the door edge. The bar part attaches to the door jamb. Just make sure they're lined up even, & not too far apart. Put the knob on first. Then place the bar on the jamb & close it over the knob. Mark the screw holes on the jamb, then screw it on. Should work.

No clue what you are talking about.....I presume you threw away the installation instructions. you can see if the MFG has any instructions on their website....Or ask one of the folks at home depot, menards, or your local hardware store
