The only way Mississippi would have been able to have an NFL team was when the Saints were looking for a new stadium. Louisiana did not want to pay for a new stadium for the Saints and there had been talk of a new stadium in Bay St. Louis, Miss. But, after the renovation of the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, it seems very unlikely. If Memphis ever gets a team, which is unlikely because of the Tennessee Titans, DeSoto County could be a good place. Jackson is not a good place for a sports team though... Before this season, New Orleans couldn't even keep their stadium full, how would Jackson?

well first of all that first area that stated other teams are located too close is full of it, the jets and giants play in the same arena so that has nothing to do with it, but honestly i dont think youll see a mississippi nfl team due to the fact that the population is to small, because thats what its all about, when an expansion team is created one of the most important things that the developers look at is can they sell out the games every time. Stadiums cost a lot and they need a place thatll draw when the games and concerts and other shows come to town.

It just isn't a big enough metro area for the NFL to feel safe enough to let a team relocate there. Plus, average household income is a bit less than the average there, another reason the NFL would hesitate. They'd want to be sure the team will sell out EVERY game, not just the first season.....

No way. The markets in that state are far too small. However Green Bay has supported the Packers from the beginning and that town IS SMALL! Jacksonville is barely in the top 50 and they have a team, so anything is possible, but highly unlikely for a team to be put in Mississippi.

Green Bay has one (smallest NFL city) in Wisconsin....I don't see why Mississippi wouldn't be qualified. But the problem might be getting the initial funding and support for it.

No. There's not enough money in MS. Plus theyre all Cheeseheads. They'd have to name the team the Jackson Favres.

Probably Not. Too much south team already. San Antonio is probably gonna be the next south expansion team.

New Orleans is too close. Memphis was to be the home of the Titans, but they moved after one year. Not gonna happen now.

I kind of think so because they don't have enough population to have enough fans but having a football team will add to their population and tourism.
