If other people have a problem with her then just rise above it and be professional about it. I used to work for a place that was a mostly male environment and there was a girl in the office that hated anyone taking away from her attention. She used to bring an awful atmosphere into the office - The day shift and hated her (she worked half of each shift) but the back shift was full of b*tches like her.
If she ever gets personal then go to HR about her - it doesnt matter who her bfs dad is they wont want a lawsuit on their hands.
Good luck hold your head up high

Concentrate on doing your new job the best you can, and worry less about appearances and social politics. The only opinion that matters in the long run is the opinion of your boss - he or she is the one that will be reviewing your work, deciding raises, and ultimately providing your reference.

Facts are: Good looking people who are tall get ahead of people who are short, fat, and dumpy.
This girl see's you as a threat, because you are.
Put her of guard by asking her advice on something small. It can be something where it doesn't matter which way the decision goes. Get her input, and go the way she's advised. Thank her for her help and tell her you really appreciate someone who can show her the ropes.
Later on gut her from gullet to spleen for being the rude pig she really is!

I would just get on with your work and leave her to it. Prove yourself in your job and you should do well regardless.
If it becomes more of a problem or you feel like she is bullying you then report it to your line manager asap to get it on record.
If she is unpopular they may just need a reason to give her the push!

I don't read any "problem" in your post.
This woman is "princessy"...if this is a problem it's her problem
Her boyfriends father is a bigwig...this isn't a problem.
She's not helpful...find help elsewhere.
Either you have left something important out, or your contemplating a problem that hasn't occurred yet.

Just be yourself, and if she wants to be funny, that's her business. Sounds like its no great loss. Just be pleasant, and professional, and she will probably get over it. Good luck with the new job by the way.
