I've read that it may kill Impatiens, is this true and are their other plants it might kill?

I think it might be a myth, but you could try an experiment just to be sure, by using it near a couple of plants but ot near some others, and then see what happens. All of the garden sites I visited say it's fine.

On the whole, YES. Ever see a grove of Eucs? Not much grows under them. If you are planning a planting, try planting things that are Australian natives as they may be better adapted. Otherwise it's trial and error. Now if you need a mulch to keep weeds out of open areas, that's the stuff!
