No, the lyrics are just ok, it is not biased. Just make sure you don't sing like that dude Sanjaya. It will severly make everyone think you are stupid.
Besides, that song has meanings for people who likes to sing it. So, why not?

Sure!! In fact I often think it's better when a guy/gal sings a song made popular by someone of the opposite sex...nothing to "compare" vocals to. With a little creativity almost any song can be switched around like that. Good Luck!

no-the lyrics seem to be pretty gender neutral. the only thing is that its kinda a sappy song, if anything, that would be the most embarassing, and even that isn't that bad.
