How do you get cake out of carpet?

Question

A friends birthday last night, got smashed with cake in the face and of course cake fell on the carpet. How do you get cake out of carpet. This is at a restaurant so the carpet is flat and smooth, not like house carpet.

The icing is red. Would Oxyclean work? Im going to look for some cleaning spray at WalMart later. It is at my friends restaurant, not sure if they have that amazing cleaner Neptune is talking about. Do you know what it looks like since you dont know the name? Will Walmart carry it?

If possible.. let dry first
vacuum
1st try a spot cleaner like resolve high traffic
if it doesn't work
use a professional shampooer

The type of capet you describe is the easiest to keep clean.

I imagine it is mostly dried up icing by now and the crumbs have been picked up.

Icing is mainly sugar so water and mild soap should do the trick. Just don't wet the area excessively, meaning, just use a damp rag to wipe it. The best thing to use is a mild carpet soap like Bissel.

You can also try those spray can foam cleaners, you vacuum then spray over the stain or area you want to cleam, once dry, vacuum.

There is also a great product for institutions, restaurants,for carpet spot cleaning, it is a dry compound used with a spray, first you spray the area, (in my case a dried up coffee stain, whole coffee pot), then sprinkle the dry (looks like laundry soap) white crystles let set a minute or two can spray more before you lightly scrub, the stain disappears. I don't remember the name of the product but was amazed by it. But distributors for business would probably carry it. Good luck
