is a great site with simple recipies you can use which utilize oils that can be bought in almost any grocery store. There are tons of good links there too. If you're looking at cold process soap as opposed to melt and pour you will need a good acurate scale--I use a postage scale. For supplies I recommend www.scenterstage.com
they have top quality fragrance oils-which don't fade after your soap cures.
There are tons of soapmaking groups here on yahoo--I get several digests from the groups--and they have regional soapmakers groups--perhaps you can find a class in your area!
