On the colonist's side (besides them) France and Prussia
On the British side: Germany (Hessian mercenaries, who were, oddly enough adopted by Quakers after the war) and Native Americans (hey, the British were actually honoring their treaties.)

It involved Great Britain, the American colonies, France, and the Holy Roman Empire (Germany). It lasted from 1775 to 1783. The 13 colonies won. :)
