It's because they are afraid of what other people would think of them. Either that, or because of a past experience.

What do you mean especially girls? We have lots to worry about!!! Shy girls probably have a low self esteim and think no one likes them, and is afraid they will say the wrong thing.

Im not shy at all im one of the most confident/outgoing people you would ever meet
But i use to be shy because i was afraid of what others would think of me

Shyness is a survival instinct. It should not be confused with a disease or disorder and does not require medication. If a person is shy or does not like to be touched, leave them alone.

Shy people are afraid of people in general. But some are more of stranger which can be opposite sex.

some people are outgoing others are not it depends on your nature when i was youger i was terribly shy of girls i dont know why i just couldnt help itso just be tollerant towards other people
