It's come to my attention that one of the top contibutors in the "Add On' category is making a mockery of this forum by clearly using multiple logins to vote for himself & take away recognition for other respondants who try hard to help people with their answers.

Here is a link to one example of his Best Answers :

http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjDWsrGWNybTW9Fixm_U48PBFQx.?qid=20070324071224AAXC9k3&show=7#profile-info-9c976a659e6f934caff011d533afee78aa

I confronted him with this & he emailed me saying that more than 95% of his best answers are with 3 or 4 votes (EVERY TIME) because his "fans" always vote for him.
There are no names next to the answers in the voting stage so this is not possible.... clearly something fiishy is going on.
Look at his Best Answer history & see for yourself.
How can we best expose this ?

To those who think this is trivial ... think outside the box please .....
The idea here is not about points ... I could not care less.
It's about giving people the best answers possible. When someone joins this forum & answers a question fully & informatively & takes time out of their day to do so .... it's a slap in the face to them to see their answer seeminlgy overlooked & a 3 word reply that says nothing get chosen as a best answer.
Those people will see Yahoo Answers as a joke & won't come back.
Who suffers ... those who could benefit from good informative answers...that's who.
That's why I won't tolerate this ... NOT because I'm counting points....

The link you have posted does seem like the result of multiple accounts HOWEVER

You need to e-mail the users profile to y_answrs_team@yahoo.com rather than starting threads like this.

I would have to say that a 57% Best Answer statistic is certainly extraordinary - especially since the answer to which you referred has two negative votes shown, and yet "won" with an answer that said to follow someone else's answer.

Hard evidence? Maybe not. Highly highly suspicious? Yeah, I'd say someone might want to keep an eye on this guy

I have always looked at yahoo answers as a personal challenge and not a competition.
there fore if someone else were to cheat it is not to make someone else to look bad but to make themselves look better.
In that respect I would let it go.
Keep doing your own best.

I think you have done a great job by posting this question. That really makes me mad - and he really needs to get a life. There is no gratification in getting a best answer like that. Sad. Thanks for pointing him out. I will keep my eyes open from now on.

The points on Y!A are absolutely worthless. Expose what? That someone is stealing nothing?

Thats kind of tough. At best youwould have to go to yahoo and ask them to check the ip address of these differnet accounts. tell them its undermining the whole yahoo answers purpopse.

If you want to bluff him into a confession tell him you have tracked the ip address of the accounts and will continue to work with yahoo's security dept if he doesnt immediately cease and desist his practices

Just report it to Yahoo if you think this is happening. I think anyone who does this must be sadly lacking in real life activities.
It is also very possible he has fans who vote for him.

Just stop worring about other people. Focus on yourself. Who cares if there is a cheater in answers.yahoo.com? Why don't you just forget about it. He's a Cheater that will just keep on cheatin' so let him.
