Lynard Skynard is not a him--it is a band! Some of the members were killed in a plane crash in the '70's---and as far as I am concerned the Original Lynard Skynard band is the only version of Freebird! Saw them in 1976 at a Day On the Green Concert in Oakland Cali--Rock on!
So live version with original band!
They played this song at my graduation from High School!

The live version by the original band, because it was the first song I heard after my first divorce was finalized.

the 1st time i heard the "Dale Earnhardt" tribute version i was almost in tears. as a DJ, that's the most requested cut of it i own. if i play the original, i can about get booed off the stage.
