I heard they were going to make it , but then heard nothing more. Anyone know anything at all?

peter jackson wont be directing this movie(shucks)but it will be out probaly around 2009.heard sam raimi(spiderman)is the chosen director.hope ian mckellen,ian holm and andy serkis return.

Without Peter Jackson and the appropriate original members from LOTR it's hardly worth the effort. I won't be watching it. The producer forcing it through is doing it purely to punish and spite Peter and that's a pathetic reason to make a film. It's going to suck.

I really don't know or care. It's not worth filming in my opinion - unless the writers and directors deviate entirely from the book itself which was boring and tiresome.
