Internet connections?

Alright guys I am setting up a computer for a friend and I need to set up a internet connection but I am not sure how. What I have is a Ethernet cord that is hooked up to a router, which is hooked up to a modem. Now when I hook up a cord into my computer, I can get online. So I need to somehow set up the computer so I can get the internet connection to work. How do I do that?

Your friend has an Internet Service Provider (ISP), like Rogers or Sympatico, right?

Call your friend's ISP and they will walk you through it.
