What kind of vehicle is it?Some vehicles have a starter solenoid that is NOT mounted on the starter itself and it could be bad.

sounds like a battery with a low charge, it has enough power to operate all the small loads, but the starter is by no means a small load. try charging the battery back up, leave it on a slow charge over night. if this works, have the charging system retested. you may also have a parasitic drain ,something that drains the battery even when the key is off. let me know what you find out, i am curious.

It's not blowing hot exhaust or leaking oil on the starter, is it?

Did you check the battery voltage while it is hot? (not starting)

Have you had any internal work done to the engine prior to this problem? (piston rings maybe)

Can you turn the engine by hand when it is hot? (put a ratchet and socket on the harmonic balancer bolt)

I'd try with a new starter. You might also look into the ignition and wires. Maybe moisture got in the wires. Has a mechanic looked at it?

Purchase a GOOD quality rebuilt starter. All symptoms relate to the starter motor.

buy a new starter and also change your battery cables, they could be old and breaking down not allowing the full current.

as far as i recognize, whoever "hits" has the criminal duty or is "at fault". In different words, coverage firms and regulation enforcements point of view is, "in case you're following all the regulations of the line and protection, there is in no way any reason to hit something." Now, if there became ice on the line, that could atleast make issues lean extra on your prefer, yet i think of you'll have a image taken that day of the stretch of street you slid on. this is why they say you should continually have atleast a disposable digital camera on your automobile to take a image of an accident and accident scene on the day of the accident, alongside with a cellular telephone, your coverage advice, driving force's license and registration. with a bit of luck you have automobile coverage which will pay even in spite of if it is your fault, or if no longer, a great style of associates and relatives that might assist you in this time of disaster. there's a great style of different factors to evaluate: became the two of the drivers utilising on a similar time as impaired, or in a hurry, did the two depart the scene of the accident earlier regulation enforecement arrived, what style of autos have been in touch, did the two have automobile coverage-dl license-registration-and so on... So with a bit of luck, maybe there is different factors that are on your prefer right here. In the two case, that is a take-heed call to continually tension effectively and defensively and save as plenty area between you and different shifting autos or gadgets as achieveable, have a seat belt on, and haven't any distractions like listening to the radio, eating, eating, speaking on a cellular telephone, and so on... i recognize all this because of the fact i've got been utilising for years now, and have purely been in some injuries. In each accident different than one, somebody hit me and for some reason none of them even had a driving force's license!!!! interior the accident the place I hit somebody, I rear ended somebody, purely such as you probably did. So on account that I "hit", it became my fault, even in spite of the undeniable fact that the motor vehicle in front of me stopped brief and fairly speedy, no longer giving me any time to end. the only element that saved me became that the motor vehicle I hit left the scene of the accident, and, from what I understand, it became some form of coverage scam on the portion of the different driving force.
