I have a dish washing machine that is portable and can be attached to the kitchen sink faucet for hot water supply and discharges the waste water into the sink drain. I dont want to hook it up to the faucet since it may cause a backwash into the potable system. I have a 1/2" hot copper line that i can attach to from the dish washing machine hot water hose (it wont fit in a 1/2" sharkbite adapter) but im unsure what i can connect it with.

What about soldering on a 1/2" brass fitting with threds on one side. Either that or attach a 1/2" valve with compression fitting on one side and threads on the other. A valve with a solder end and a threaded end would work as well. Any decent plumbing supply store can fix you up with what you need.

You need to check the inside diameter of the hose with the outside diameter of the copper. If really close, you can do as stated and put the hose in hot water so it is more pliable. Using some dish soap will also help it slide in. Then get a small hose clamp to hold it in place.

You can try warming up the hose so its more flexable and put some grease on it. Most Water supply pipes are not 1/2 in there 3/8th.
