Bush will soon veto more money for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. By his action Bush is effectively doing more harm to our troops, there families and the commanders that are in harms way. Bush refuses to withdraw from the occupation of Iraq. Last November the voice of the American people, in majority, was made clear to Bush and the Republicans in Congress. They have now chosen to ignore the people and that vote.

dstr, i see you read. I don't watch any TV, all Republican propaganda there. You seem to be one voice in a sea of idiots. The Impeachment of Bush and Cheney is the only course of action for Democrats. Check out my blog, http://silverseed.blogspot.com/ post anytime.

Southern, why lie? Are you aware that Democrats passed Pay-go? What pork? Pray tell?

Southern, are you aware that Congress has never declared war on Iraq? Look up the word occupy in the dictionary. Congress did approve of the removal of Saddam and the search for WMD, they never approved occupaytion.

Real Estate, yes you do need to grow up and get a education. That is true. You answered 1105 questions and only have 77 as best answers. That is only 6 percent. Try PBS or NPR, turn off Fox news. Also skip Rush, he is a lair also just like the draft dodbers Bush and Cheney. BTW, I am happy my income does not depend on the Real Estate market. I am also happy to earn 20 times what you do.

Our system of government was designed with a set of checks and balances. The president is the commander and cheif of the armed forces and has the right of office to deploy troops. Congress can not impede the office of President.
However Congress can control the purse strings so that in effect they limit the ability of the President.
However if Congress makes that choice they become liable for the results.
Most of what has taken place is a political ploy. While Congress passed their resolutions they also attached a whole bunch of pork projects that do not benifit the troops. Some of these a special interest projects that were used to get others in Congress to bass this bill. If you were to remove the pork spending the bill would not have passed.
If you have not noticed Congress has been ignoring the will of the American People for over 15 years. We have not secured our border yet!!

President Bush is hopefully going to veto a bill that the democrats have attached BILLIONS in pork spending to that was intended to help the troops. He is keeping his word on this one. The democrats are the ones forcing this one. They are the ones who are not supporting our troops and playing politics with our troops lives.

BTW, the democrats were the ones who campaigned vowing to END the same exact pork they are forcing.

If it were a straight bill, just to support the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, the democrats who are criticizing the war and our President would have to either vote for it and lose the support of their liberal base or vote against it and reveal their true anti-military position. Not a good thing to appear as when we are at WAR.

IF that were true...why did your hero Pelosi have to put so much pork in the bill to get her own party's support?
Why is she over stepping the Congress role and trying to play commander-in-chief..Why not just pass a law to end the war...
WHY....Because she can't
You did not get the "mandate" from the people that you claim.
You won a simple victory..you do not have the votes to over ride the President VETO of this foolish bill.

Strategy 101 tells us and even the simplest fool that you DO NOT TELL YOUR ENEMY your plan..but that is what Pelosi wants to do....

GROW UP..go to school and get an education...you need it

If congress was sooo against the war, why did they not just ask for withdrawal?

Who is really harming the troops by adding the deadline that they new would be vetoed?

What military expertise do they posses that they predict that we can safely pull out on a specific day?

The dopey democratic social gathering in Connecticut tabbed Blumenthal as their candidate for the seat Dodd is finally vacating on Friday, days after the long island circumstances tale broke!! no longer something like agency as known from the dopey democratic social gathering! Show me the proof of his lies. And he is not vetoing the money for the troops, only the deadline for withdrawal. If you are going to post an inflammatory question, please have your facts straight. On the flip side, if Congress cares about the troops, why don't they pass a funding bill without the deadline? Catch-22

Yes. I support our president. But you need to get your facts in order about the veto and the vote. The vote you called it, was a one sided poll.

Sculpting the psyches of their loyal subjects to create its "base" of war-mongers, racists, worshippers of consumerism, religious fanatics, xenophobes, and complicit accomplices in the murders of millions of human beings around the world, the ruling class of the United States has cemented their hold on power and ensured the continued growth of their staggering wealth. However, evidence continues to emerge to indicate that these Ugly Americans are a minority in the United States with a waning potency. Sagging poll numbers for the Bush regime, increased public support for Bush's impeachment (http://www.impeachpac.org/?q=node/6), increased opposition to the illegal occupation in Iraq, the indictments of Delay and Scooter Libby.
