Indian cricket can bounce back and become a very good side in the cricketing world scene. Winning and loosing is part of sport. But, as a professional body BCCI (the governing body of cricket in India), should sit down and analize with the coach, captain and the selectors what was the cause for the debacle.
The Coach, Cpatain and the Manager will subit a report on the World Cup 2007 to the BCCI on the 6th April and the BCCI will be meeting the coach, cpatain and the selectors along with five former India captains. During that time, a thorough intospection is needed.
The Selection policy should be impartial and should be only based on current performance of the cricketer. More emphasis should be given for fitness and fielding as they are the most important aspects in today's mordern cricket.
The players should be paid as per their performance and a new cricket contract for the players on gradation and performance basis should be discussed and implemented after the expirey of the present one in vouge.
The BCCI should make the First class matches played in our country more competative and make more sporting wickets. All Test and One-day Internationals playing players should take part in the First Class matches cumpulsoraly.
BCCI should devlop the game in the grass root level and give more emphasis on developing the game on a all-round basis.
BCCI's activities should be more professional and more transparent as so much money is involved in the game and BCCI is the richest cricket Board in the World.
If all these things are set right and remedial actions are taken why cannot Indian cricket go to greater heights in the days to come? The ball is in the BCCI's court and a lot will also depend on the players commitment and playing as a team.

India can definitely can make a come back if the selection of yhe team is done in a strictly on merits manner.
Being a country with huge population and segmented states, districts ,panchayath etc the selection criteria has to be on the basis of root level selection to get the cream of creams. First there must be a panchayath level selection, the qualified should go for a distrct level selection the shortlisted one would go for a state level selection and all those selected from states will meet in the national level selection meet whose performances must be rated by computer before making a final decision. No one should enter the indian team without undergoiing the full selection process.
There will be no one to beat such a team. But who cares in India for all these then how the corruption can stay?!

India can defenitely come back as a strong team in the cricket. First of all Indian selectors have to spot some young talented players across the country, groom them up by giving them adequate training, make one or two teams of such selected youngsters, make them play few matches against the present Indian squad, assess the performance of these selected youngstersand blood the deserving youngsters in the Indian Team gradually in place of some of the players in the present Indian squad who fail to perform consistently. By this way, India can build up a strong team by the time next world cup starts. Further selection to Indian Team for future tournaments should be made strictly according to current form and not based on the past records and glory.

Lastly payment to players should be made strictly as per performance and not as per seniority or past glory.

The team needs to be totally revamped if India needs to make a mark in international cricket. If immediate efforts are not taken India may not stand a chance even by next World Cup.

It is possible, the player has to be accoutable, they should have some commonsense, they have to put in their mind that they are one of the best member of the team who has been selected to play, and let them make sure that they have to forget giving excuses like i have played a bad shot, we are under pressure, this is part of the game and we have to concentrate on for the next game. The board has to say that you have been paid to perform in the field and not to talk.
