america claims to be accepting of all religions, YET, americans' naive and generally contradictory impression given to the world is that muslims (a religion, not a country) are to blame for 911 and everything else bad in the world.

american living = fantasy island.

ONE MORE QUESTION: since we know iran has no wmd, just as we did with iraq, what would be iran's motive for starting a war - oh, that's right, it makes no sense at all, unless you are a blind american.

Actually Iran does have wmd. And it's true that many Americans hate and blame Muslims for 9/11. But this is nothing new if you look at the American past. If they hate a certain country in some part of the world, then they usually treat them wrong in the US. During WWII, Japanese Americans and German Americans were put into concentration camps around the US just because they thought that they were going to spread Communism and that they were spies. After Pearl Harbor, many Americans hated a lot of Asians. So, it is true that Americans live in a fantasy world.

Are you serious, just because they do not have nuclear weapons does not mean they are not a threat. Iran has nuclear power which means they have the ability to produce "dirty bombs" which are conventional bombs wrapped with radioactive material. Iran also has a massive army, most of which are Muslim extremists who run into battle in human waves that just overwhelms the opposition. If you do not believe me look in your history books for the Iran - Iraq war.
Iran is also a destabilizing force in the world and a backwards country. Women have virtually no rights and religious extremist control what is taught in Iranian classrooms.
Just because you cannot wrap your mind around Iran's perspective does not mean they have no motivation.
IF you were alive during Hitler's rise you power you would be saying that he's no threat, its people like you who allow these idle minds allow little problems to become crisis because you refuse to nip things in the butt.
IF you think that America is bad why don't you move to Iran where any questioning of government ideals, decisions will cost you jail time or worse.

A look through the history books (or in this case Wikipedia), back to the Iranian revolution will reveal the United States has a little bit of a grudge to bare against Iran over the matter of a 444day hostage crisis by Iranian students taking over the American embassy........ one of whom apparently has later gone on to become the loud mouthed tosser the Iranians now call their President.

The incident also included the Iranian students involved manually reassembling Highly Classified embassy documents that had been shredded for security purposes.

As a result, no sane Western nation would trust them with a Spudgun, never mind a Nuclear Enrichment programe.

Yes I agree most Americans have distaste for the muslim religion. Alot of it is from bad press, and bad apples making a name for themselves, so they believe most muslims must be like that. iran has no WMD yet...but is working on a nuclear weapon program, despite its attempts to conceal it. I think the Iranian people don't want war, but like our goverment is seeking confrontation. America has always had a problem with Iran, esp after the Shaw fell. Of course Iran has gone record as saying it wants to wipe Isreal from the face of the earth, so of course America has problem with someone saying that about an ally.

the idea of conquering the world is just an exaggeration.what the americans fear is that iran might threaten the middle east thus disrupting their all important oil supplies.
also wmd is a very broad term covering all lev-5 explosives.it is next to impossible that iran lacks ANY of these.
p.s donot underestimate them.they might end up exploding a nuke in yr backyard!
(highly unlikely)

It's not about religion or Islam or the Irani people.
It all boils down to survival, the need to survive.
USA needs this war to survive.
Without this war, USA will have to learn to speak Chinese if they decide to call in their markers.
Only way out is to attack Iran and 'annex' their wealth as the Iraqi wealth will take many years to find its way back to USA.
Iraq has to pay in excess of $200billion to Kuwait and nearly $700billion to the USA as reparation.
It will take a while to milk Iraq.

The money coming in from Afghanistan is not sufficient as there are renewed competitors in the drug market and spoiling the market prices of the drugs. The Afghanistani drug lords are suffering too many losses and opposition from the fundamentalists hampers regular supply.

There is no outright control in Afghanistan nor Iraq.
It suits the USA to create chaos in Iraq - divide and conquer (excellent ploy learnt from the English)

Attacking Iran will be insufficient and Saudi Arabia will also have to be attacked to stop the meltdown in the USA.
Problem is that the more they fight, the faster they accelerate the ultimate downfall of the USA.

I give the US maybe 10 years, tops. Israel will emerge as the new superpower of the world. Just a matter of time.

Iran is a bit stronger than Iraq but still no match for the USA.
However, Iran has no choice but to defend their right to have alternate energy.

As for 911, ever heard of remote controlled airplanes.

There are much more contentious issues but everytime the West creates propaganda, it misfires and more and more people, decent people revert to Islam.

If the muslim won't bring these people to Islam, God will do it for them. We are seeing this being fulfilled, at present.
For those who have not received the gift of truth, it's just not meant to be; they will continue to hate and be bigots as is evident here and in so many other places.
It attracts both amusement and pity.

Remember, when Jesus (peace be upon him) returns, he will break the back of the swine and that will be the day an athiest will be revered more than his so called people.

Iran has nuclear enrichment programs. We have been very tolerant of Muslims and their religion. Don't you remember what we did with the Japanese during WWII? We learn from our mistakes, I don't see a Muslim that has been beaten up or kill. They are treated pretty well around here, you don't know what your're talking about.

I recall a while back a story of a man in a Muslim country who had converted to Christianity. he was given a choice convert back or be killed. he chose neither and was smuggled out of the country to save his life. their were massive Muslim protests calling for his death.
America respects other religions but to be respected those religions must be equally tolerable of individuals right to practice the religion of it's choosing. Islam has not demonstrated such tolerance.
