Do you mean

(7/z) - 3 = -3

or do you mean

7/(z-3) = -3

In the first case, z would be undefined

in the second case

multiply both sides by (z-3) to get

7 = -3 (z-3) {remove brackets}

7 = -3z + 9 {now subtract 9 from both sides}

-2 = -3z

z = 2/3

7/z-3 = -3
"cross multiplication"
>>> 7 times 1 = 7
>>> z-3 times -3 = -3z + 3
'new equation'
7 = -3z + 3
transfer 3 on right and change its sign
7 - 3 = -3z
4 = -3z
divide both side by -3
4 / -3 = -3z / -3
4 / -3 = z this is the answer<<<<

7/z-3= -3

7= -3(z-3)

7= -3z+9

3z= 9-7

3z=2

z=2/3

I assume that's
7/(z-3) = -3

Multiply both sides by z-3

7= -3(z-3)
Multiply 3 through
7= -3z + 9
Subtract 9 from both sides
-2 = -3z
Divide both sides by -3

2/3 = z
